How REJURAN® works
Unlike hyaluronic acid skin boosters, REJURAN® does not work by holding water in the skin. Its polynucleotides encourage fibroblast activity, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin, supporting longer-term skin quality rather than an immediate filling effect.

The treatment
Your appointment starts with a medical assessment of your skin, history and goals. Topical anaesthetic may be applied about 30 minutes beforehand to improve comfort. REJURAN® is then placed with a series of small, shallow injections across the treatment area.
Small bumps at the injection points are expected and usually settle within a day or so. Further treatments may be recommended to achieve or maintain results; your plan is discussed at consultation.
Possible side effects and risks
As with all injectable procedures, side effects and complications may occur. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Redness, swelling, small bumps, or bruising at injection sites (usually resolving within 1–3 days)
- Skin sensitivity, mild peeling, or dryness
- Temporary scabbing, which will usually fall off naturally within a few days
- Rare infection, which may cause scarring if aftercare instructions are not followed
- Allergic reaction to topical anaesthetic or injectable ingredients
- Rarely, granuloma or hypersensitivity if REJURAN® is injected into the same plane as previous dermal filler
Aftercare
- Avoid excessive touching, rubbing, or massage at the treated area
- Avoid high-heat environments such as saunas and hot yoga for 24–48 hours
- Apply sunscreen with high SPF daily to reduce risk of pigmentation
- Follow all aftercare instructions provided by your practitioner

01Is REJURAN® the same as a skin booster or filler?
No. Hyaluronic acid skin boosters and fillers add hydration or volume. REJURAN® is made of polynucleotides that support the skin's own repair processes, so it focuses on skin quality rather than shape or volume.
02Does REJURAN® hurt?
Most people feel a stinging or pinching sensation with each injection. Topical anaesthetic can be applied about 30 minutes beforehand to make the treatment more comfortable.
03What is the downtime?
Redness, swelling, small bumps or bruising at the injection sites are common and usually resolve within 1 to 3 days. Avoid saunas, hot yoga and other high-heat environments for 24 to 48 hours.
04How many treatments will I need?
It varies with your skin and goals. Further treatments are often recommended to achieve or maintain results; Dr Hendler will talk you through a plan at your consultation.
05Who should not have REJURAN®?
Suitability is assessed at consultation. Tell your doctor about allergies (including to fish or salmon products), medications, skin conditions and previous cosmetic treatments such as dermal filler.
